Yoga Classes for Adults
Kripalu Yoga Classes
Hello!
I am a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher (200 hr.) and a Kripalu- certified Adolescent Yoga Teacher (75 hr.). I was drawn to Kripalu for its focus on non-judgmental self-observation and self-compassion (the Sanskrit word Kripalu means compassion.) A Kripalu Yoga class invites you to observe and honor the present state of your body, mind, and emotions, and to modify yoga postures to fit your needs.
I have also been participating in additional yoga teacher-training from Rachel Scott Yoga .
In my classes, I offer plenty of modifications to postures to provide gentler or more challenging experiences. Each class begins with mindful centering and relaxing breathwork, and continues with whole-body warm-ups and yoga asanas (postures) for strengthening and balance. Meditative music accompanies the movements. Classes end with an opportunity for deep relaxation and meditation.
I wholeheartedly welcome teens and adults to a five-week class series* held on Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 11:15 a.m. at:
The River Falls Community Center
7915 Horseshoe Ln.
Potomac, MD 20854
*Please contact me for the dates of the next series: juliet.spanish@gmail.com
